Description

The Pisces is the traditional fish in the range, with a twin fin setup, wide point forward with a straight section through the tail. This is a quintessential fish that actually still performs.

Suited to a range of conditions, this board will allow you to get back to a more traditional era of surfing.

Jump on The Pisces today and feel a brand new sense of speed.

About The Technology:

SUNS TEC 2

SUNS Tec 2 is our high end offering in the SUNS range. It was created with the same core values and properties as SUNS Tec 1 in a slightly more reactive, high performance package. It is available in all performance surfboards in the same range and is the lightest, most positive construction underfoot.

A high density EPS core is completely encased in a medium gram fibreglass, this is then filled with a special foaming bio resin to fill in the weave and begin to create a strong, durable structure. The board is then final shaped and laminated with fibreglass again in a special double lamination process that enables us to recreate the strength and flex properties of a sandwich construction board, without the traditional sandwich medium.

SHAPER DESIGN DETAILS:

OUTLINE:

Fuller nose, wide point forward, parallel rear to a deep fish tail. The whole board is set up for speed and the outline is no different. The fuller nose helps the board climb on top of the water a little easier with the first few strokes. Having the wide point forward creates a longer tail and a shorter nose. The parallel rear enables the board to be super quick down the line.

RAILS:

Low, shortboard performance style. The low rails offer some sensitivity, the first thing you do when turning is bury one rail, when it’s lower it drops in quicker and easier. This helps offset some of the stiffness coming from the outline.

ROCKER:

Quite flat. More so in the nose in comparison to other boards. This gives the board really good carry and allows you to have your weight more distributed whilst the board will still go. As an example, if you jump up with your feet in the wrong spot, it still carries while you shuffle into the right spot so you don’t lose the wave. If you have too much rocker in a tiny board, then your weight must be placed in the exact location to make it go, if not it comes to a stop and the wave gets away from you.

BOTTOM:

Single to double concave. The single concave helps the inside rail engage earlier, initiating turns faster, while also directing water off the outside rail in a downward direction, applying Newton's 3rd law of physics. Whilst the double helps to create a quicker more responsive feeling under the back foot.

DECK:

The deck is a fairly standard profile, the board is not super thick so even though it has low rails, the roll is quite comfortable.

FINS:

Twin. As a traditional fish should be. Some large area fins really help to make this board fly.

FINAL STATEMENT:

A board that is a traditional fish at heart, yet performs more like a modern day performance short board. A ridiculous amount of fun every time.
